Basic information

The Volunteer Support Program is recognized by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic under the title of Volunteer as a guide for asylum seekers and foreign residents living in the Czech Republic.

MISSION

We help to connect Czech nationals and people from other countries, regardless of their nationality and origin, so they can get to know each other better and spend time together.

GOALS

  • strengthen the ties between the mainstream society and people from other countries.
  • reduce social and cultural isolation.
  • support social interactions and provide relevant information.
  • consolidate and improve the level of Czech proficiency.

PRINCIPLES

  • Individual approach and equality. We value individuality of each person (clients and volunteers) and respect their view of the experiences they are living through in the Czech Republic, regardless of their origin, age, limitations, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, etc.
  • We focus on developing existing skills of a client, we support their independence. We encourage our clients to make autonomous and responsible decisions. We always respect their choices and the solutions they choose to opt for.
  • Confidentiality of information.
We do not pass to third parties the information that the volunteer and coordinator come in possession of through their collaboration with the client without an expressed consent of the client (unless otherwise required by law). The same applies to client’s personal and contact data.
