WHO IS THIS SERVICE FOR?

The service Hermione (Hermiona) is designed for families with children age 3 through 18 (rarely through 26), if they are:

  • non-EU and non-EEA nationals (third country nationals) who are long-term residents in the Czech Republic or received international protection here (asylum or subsidiary protection).
  • EU and EEA nationals and their family members.
  • Czech nationals who lived such a substantial period of time outside the Czech Republic that their lack of knowledge of the Czech language and Czech social environment presents for them a significant limitation.

The service is offered to families living in Prague, the Central Bohemian Region, Liberec Region, and Ústecký Region.

 
THE SERVICE OFFER

To parents 

  • facilitating communication with school;
  • consultations on homework assignments, etc.;
  • solving problems related to the family’s financial situation and living arrangements;
  • helping to create and improve social connections;
  • communication with public authorities;
  • help of a volunteer (learning about life in the Czech Republic, its customs and culture);
  • family-friendly events;
  • arranging for further professional assistance.

To children

  • help of a volunteer (learning about life in the Czech Republic, its customs and culture);
  • Czech as a second language;
  • consultations on homework assignments, tutoring;
  • planning or organizing leisure activities;
  • helping to choose school or field of study; vocational guidance for adolescents;
  • activities and social therapy for adolescents;
  • arranging for further professional assistance.
